Dallas' DART expands convenient GoLink service to 3 new pilot zones
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has deployed some service modifications to GoLink, its on-demand service, curb-to-curb microtransit service.
GoLink is the agency's program that uses a variety of vehicles and service providers to deliver on-demand DART service within a designated zone. Each GoLink zone provides service to a rail station or transit center for connections to other DART services.
So if you need to catch a DART bus or train, you request a GoLink ride and DART sends over a GoLink van or an Uber.
Here's their little scenario:
"Anthony needs a ride to the DART Rail station located within his GoLink zone. His train is scheduled to depart in 27 minutes. Using the trip-planning feature in the GoPass app, he sees that a GoLink vehicle can drop him off at the station in 18 minutes. His fare would already be covered by the day pass he purchased in the app earlier that day, so he’s all set and ready to make his connection."
As for the new service: DART is adding three new pilot zones, and will deploy expansions to 11 GoLink zones already in service.
These changes go into effect on Monday, January 22.
DART GoLink Zones
The zone-to-zone pilot program for GoLink, DART’s on-demand service, curb-to-curb microtransit service, which has proven popular in the city of Plano, will be increased to include three new service areas to improve accessibility and mobility between zones.
These new pilot zones include:
In response to rider requests, there will be minor expansions to the following 11 DART GoLink zones:
- Far North Plano
- Keller Springs
- Kleberg
- Legacy West
- North Central Dallas
- North Central Plano
- North Dallas
- Preston Hollow
- Rowlett
- Rylie
- Southeast Garland
Your GoLink trip is covered by a valid contactless DART fare purchased via credit card or GoPass card.
