Dallas design authority earns best U.S. furniture store title yet again
Frisco home and design outpost IBB Design Fine Furnishings can add another virtual trophy to its well-accessorized shelves: For the second consecutive year, it was named the best furniture store in the country in the ARTS Awards last month.
It was the 26th edition of the premier awards program for the home industry, which honors manufacturers, retailers, and product and interior designers. It is co-produced by Accessories Resource Team (ART) and Dallas Market Center.
Peer nominations were accepted online, and, from that pool, finalists were selected. Then it was up to a panel of judges, representing all facets of the industry, to determine the winners in each category. Finalists came from places as close as Texas and as far away as British Columbia, including the East and West coasts.
Founded more than 30 years ago by Beth Rafferty — her daughter, Shay Geyer, is now a partner and designer there — IBB Design has grown from a design firm into a 40,000-square-foot store and resource center offering some of the best-looking home decor on the market. But it still retains its designer roots: Currently there are 28 on staff who help clients turn houses into homes.
IBB Design joins fellow Dallas winners Loloi Rugs, which took top honors in the area rugs category, and Arteriors Home, which won for portable lamps.
