First-ever Children's Hope Award Dinner raises big bucks for Orphan Outreach

The 411: The Children’s Hope Award was established to recognize a community member who inspires others and considerably advances the mission of Plano-based Orphan Outreach. In its first year, the dinner raised more than $100,000. The honoree was nationally renowned author, photographer and philanthropist Amy Simmons, best known for photographing some of the world’s most powerful and respected leaders, including former presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. Mary Landrieu was also presented with the Champion of Hope Award at the event.
Who: Annette Simmons, Jimmy Westcott, Eleanor Maxwell, Carol Seay, Jacqueline Cavendar, Sunie Solomon and Blair Pogue. Gloria Campos of WFAA, in her last event hosting before retirement, served as emcee.
