While the majority of events around Dallas have either been postponed or canceled, there are a few that have popped up to offer the masses some entertainment while still adhering to the social distancing necessary during the coronavirus pandemic.
Below are the best ways to spend your free time this weekend. While they're not all outside of the house, they all promise to provide a nice distraction from the everyday life.

Dallas Children's Theater presents A Kids Play about Racism
Dallas Children's Theater is one of many theater organizations around the country to present the streaming production A Kids Play About Racism, featuring award-winning artist Khalia Davis and an all-Black cast and creative team from across the country in adapting Jelani Memory's book, A Kids Book About Racism. The production will be available to stream through August 7, which is also the date of a talkback featuring national cultural competence researcher and educator, Anthony Peterson, as well Memory and Davis. Families are encouraged to listen in on the conversation and pose questions online.
Friday, August 7
And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead in concert
The Austin alternative rock band And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead will present the second of three livestreams, this one timed for an evening performance in the UK/EU, but accessible by anyone in the world. The show will feature a unique one-hour set built around requests by fans for a handful of tracks rarely played live, if at all, and some classic live favorites.
Improv Addison presents Bill Bellamy
Comedian Bill Bellamy has been entertaining the masses for almost 30 years, including a stint on MTV in the '90s, as well as a long movie and TV career. All the while, he's been an in-demand stand-up comic, traveling across the country with both solo and group shows. He'll perform five shows through Sunday at Improv Addison.

CarBaret Drive-In presents The Last Starfighter + Blixaboy
The latest in the ongoing CarBaret series at Brizo in Richardson will feature the 1984 sci-fi cult classic The Last Starfighter, along with a performance by Wanz Dover, aka Blixaboy. The film is about a teenager who sets the all-time high score on a stand-up arcade game at his trailer park, only to get whisked away into an intergalactic battle where billions of lives hinged on his ability to defeat an enemy fleet. Guests can enjoy the entire show from the socially distanced comfort of their own car, with audio broadcast over the FM dial to 93.5 FM.
Klyde Warren Park presents Movies in the Park
If you want to see an outdoor movie for free, Klyde Warren Park is happy to oblige with the latest entry in its Movies in the Park series. This week will feature the 2018 hit Crazy Rich Asians, a showcase for many great Asian actors from around the world. As always, the park will have food trucks onsite to serve up dinner, snacks, or desserts for moviegoers.
