Where To Shop Now

Where to shop in Dallas right now: 10 must-hit stores for September

Diana Oates
Sep 14, 2016 | 2:57 pm

With fancy store openings and several reopenings, Dallasites have quite a list of places to check out this month. How will you ever decide where to shop first?

Christofle
The luxury silversmith is now open for business in Highland Park Village. Christofle is known for flatware and silver trays; however, gifts and accessories such as frames, candles, baby gifts, and desk accessories add depth to the brand’s first Dallas boutique. Customization and engraving, along with gift wrapping and comprehensive cleaning service, are available.

Draper James
Reese Witherspoon’s Southern-inspired fashion and lifestyle brand opened the doors to its Highland Park Village store earlier this month. The 1,800-square-foot boutique features ready-to-wear, accessories, and home products in a variety of seasonal prints. The Dallas store marks the second brick-and-mortar location for the brand.

Kendra Scott
Your favorite Texas-based jewelry designer wants to decorate your nails too. The Kendra Scott Nail Lacquer collection is now in stores and features 23 shades, including a top coat and base coat. Bold signature hues like the popular Pink Agate are priced at $16, and drusy-inspired shades are $18.

Neiman Marcus
Dallas-based jewelry company Akola is launching a new luxury line available at Neiman Marcus, and 100 percent of sales will be socially reinvested to help women in poverty around the world. Akola was launched by Dallasite Brittany Merrill Underwood as the first full-impact jewelry brand in the luxury space. All jewelry is created and produced entirely by impoverished women in Uganda and Dallas

Pockets
Shop this traditional men’s boutique — for a new suit or everyday wear — as it celebrates a grand reopening post flood damage. While at the Plaza at Preston Center, check out the recently unveiled installation by Houston-based artist Michelle O’Michael, which sits in the heart of the center, in the circle drive.

REI
Dallas-based brand Hari Mari is now offering its signature flip-flop at Texas REI stores, where they will be stocked year-round. This launch is followed by a spring 2017 rollout of Hari Mari across 32 REI locations nationally. One percent of the brand’s sales benefits Flops Fighting Cancer.

Suitsupply
Just in time for fall, men can now browse the highly anticipated Rocket Man collection at this West Village clothier. The collection includes suits, jackets, coats, knitwear, shirts, trousers, and shoes.

Tory Sport
Tory Burch recently debuted a boutique in NorthPark Center dedicated to its activewear brand, Tory Sport. It’s the first store of its kind to open outside of New York. Located on the first floor between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, shoppers can expect clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories ranging in price from $65-$575.

TTH Forty Five Ten
Forty Five Ten’s latest concept has opened in Highland Park Village, replacing Five & Ten. Forty Five Ten’s vice president and creative/fashion director Taylor Tomasi Hill curates her namesake store that is set to sell clothes, jewelry, shoes, handbags and gifts. Lines include Harvey Faircloth, Alexander Wang, Faith Connexion, Kule, Rosie Assoulin, Jacquemus, and Fallon.

Tuesday Morning
Several of these Dallas-based discount stores are sporting a new look. The Plano store represents the company’s latest prototype, with new fixtures, flooring, improved lighting, and a redesigned store layout. The Preston Center branch got a makeover with new fixtures, flooring, and improved lighting; the sales floor was nearly doubled. The company is also expanding its inventory of upscale and brand-name home goods.

TTH Forty Five Ten is now open at Highland Park Village.

Hiatus Spa is opening in Addison.

It's time to relax and say "spaaaaaah," Addison. Hiatus Spa, the award-winning Dallas-based day spa and med spa known for its membership model, is opening a location at Town Hall Square in September.

"We can't wait to bring our signature day spa and med spa experience to the community and welcome you through our doors this fall," Hiatus announced July 9 on Instagram.

Town Hall Square is at 5310 Belt Line Rd., Dallas, and is home to notable restaurants Chamberlain's Steak & Fish and Brentwood. The shopping center sits adjacent to the historic Old Addison Town Hall building.

According to a release, the new retreat will bring Hiatus' signature blend of day spa and med spa services to Addison, with amenities including relaxation lounges, massage and facial treatment rooms, med spa treatment rooms, and Sunlighten infrared saunas in both the men's and women's lounges.

Hiatus fans will be happy to know that the Addison spa will include one of their most-loved amenities: a nail lounge with zero-gravity chairs for maximum relaxation during manis and pedis. (Tip: Do not skip the noise-canceling headphones and eye mask.)

Hiatus' full menu of services will be offered, including therapeutic massage, customized facials, nail therapies, body treatments, injectables, microneedling, and chemical peels.

"We're thrilled to become part of the Addison community," says Kate Sazer, CEO of Hiatus, in the release. "Addison is one of the most vibrant and fast-growing communities in North Texas, and we're excited to bring our philosophy of making self-care accessible, approachable, and part of everyday life to both residents and the many people who work and visit here."

Founded in Dallas in 2006, Hiatus has grown into one of Texas' largest spa brands, the release notes, with locations across Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. In DFW, there are two locations in Dallas (the original at Inwood Village and The Hill), Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, Southlake, and Allen.

The company has earned multiple honors over the years, including recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies.

But it's Hiatus' H-Circle Wellness Membership, which offers special discounts and other benefits, that helps set it apart. The $99-per-month memberships help encourage regular self-care instead of occasional spa visits.

To celebrate the Addison opening, Hiatus is offering a Founding Membership promotion for the first 100 members. The offer includes a $50 spa credit and an exclusive H-Circle tote filled with products from HydroPeptide and SkinCeuticals, valued at $100.

A grand opening celebration is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
