1. Mumford & Sons takes extended and indefinite break from music. We were just coming off our high from Mumford & Sons long-awaited (and sold-out) Dallas concert when the band declared it was going on hiatus. In an interview with Rolling Stone, keyboardist Ben Lovett said, "There won’t be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future." It won't be easy, but We Will Wait.
2. ‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ fan beaten and robbed outside store. Rohan Dawkins was leaving GameStop in Delray Beach, Florida, with a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 in hand when life imitated art. Authorities say Adele Jones and Tommy Davis beat up Dawkins and stole the game, which they later sold online.
3. Historic Dillow House destroyed in Fort Worth Fire. The 100-year-old house was already ablaze in controversy before it burst into real-life flames around midnight September 23, the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports. The historic property is now considered a total loss.
4. Six castles that cost less than an apartment in New York City. Buzzfeed looks at the harsh truth of real estate in NYC. For practically the same price, you can either own a 14,000-square foot castle on 24 acres in France, or a 1,200-square foot apartment with one bedroom and one-and-a-half (!) bathrooms in New York.
5. Hollywood’s hope for cash in China blinds it to censorship. Sure, our pens, plates and purses might be made in China these days, but at least America is still the world's No. 1 manufacturer of movies. Nothing beats a Hollywood blockbuster, right? If Wang Jianlin — China's richest man — has his way, that's going to change.
