Dallas revelers wrap up gift lists at ultimate holiday shopping event
Hundreds of shoppers flocked to the CultureMap Holiday Pop-Up Shop, eager to get a jump on their holiday gift lists — and have a blast while doing so. Ranging from clothing to decor, jewelry to gifts, sweets to socks, 24 of our favorite local brands set up shop at Sixty Five Hundred for a Sunday of seasonal fun, sponsored by Park Place Motorcars.
A prosecco bar from La Marca started off the day with mimosas, which then flowed into mini bottles of bubbles shoppers could sip while they strolled. Guests — including Jason and Ayo Gathing, Cynthia Smoot, Amber LaFrance, Corey Admire, and Linda Snorina — could refuel with sandwiches from Celebrity Cafe & Bakery, salty snacks from Crave Popcorn Co., and sweets from Joy Macarons and Miss Naughty Brownie while doing some serious shopping.
For the little ones, Dondolo, KidBiz, and The Little Things brought forth adorable clothes and toys that would make any kid squeal. Grown-up women had pretty much the same reaction to B. Stellar Jewelry, Elaine Turner, Echo Boutique, Perri Berri, Sun Lovin Roots, Level 3 Active, Plum Yoga, and Zsofia's Fine Lingerie, which might have inspired some to adhere to the "one for you, one for me" rule of gift-giving.
Gentlemen were quite taken with leather goods and watches from Jack Mason, snarky Dallas-themed goods from Bullzerk, and whimsical socks from subscription service Foot Cardigan. Quite a few homes will be spruced up in 2016, thanks to accessories and decor from Jade & Clover, Neighborhood, DMA Museum Store, and Xela Aroma hand-poured candles.
Pooches won't feel left out either, as Lucky Dog Barkery had treats and toys for four-legged friends.
In between shopping, there were fun crafts for kids at the DMA craft table, a station that let adults personalize their gift cards and tags, and a complimentary wrapping station. Of course, everyone was encouraged to pay a visit to the jolly man himself, Santa Claus.
