When the innovative ticketing platform TodayTix hit Dallas earlier this year, culture lovers rejoiced at the easy way they could get discounted, rush, and premium tickets to cultural events around DFW. But now young professionals and artists have a reason to feel extra happy, because TodayTix has joined with the AT&T Performing Arts Center to create a new program called TodayTix Center Social.

For an annual donation of $99 — or 12 monthly payments of $10 — members gain access to exclusive discounts on ATTPAC programming, mobile rush tickets, cast meet-and-greets, networking nights and happy hours, volunteer opportunities, and popular industry events such as Brunch on Broadway and Broadway Karaoke Night. The membership fees go toward supporting ATTPAC's Bus Fund, which ensures that students throughout North Texas have access to the arts and arts education at little or no cost to their school.

"This program will make seeing shows more convenient, more affordable, and more fun for the young professionals of North Texas," says ATTPAC interim president and CEO Debbie Storey. "We're excited about our partnership with TodayTix."

Known for its easy-to-use app, TodayTix compiles plays, musicals, concerts, operas, and other performances in one place, then offers exclusive discounts and day-of rush tickets. Besides ATTPAC, some of the biggest arts institutions in DFW have signed on, including Dallas Theater Center, Casa Mañana, WaterTower Theatre, Stage West, Circle Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theater, Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Cliburn, TITAS Presents, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, and Texas Ballet Theater.

"The community that forms when people see live performance together is like nothing else, and creating that bond with the next generation of audiences is extremely important for the future of a city's artistic landscape," says TodayTix co-founder and CEO Brian Fenty. "TodayTix offers the easy service to the best-priced tickets that younger patrons seek, and combining that with the Center's extensive network of world-class productions and events is the perfect formula to foster that community."

In an effort to expand access to all DFW theatergoers, the AT&T Performing Arts Center will also be offering season-long $25 mobile rush tickets through the TodayTix app for the full 2018-19 Broadway season. Beginning at 9 am on each performance date, a limited number of $25 rush tickets can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis within the app.

The 15th Annual Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards celebrated the best local student theater productions.

The 15th annual Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards celebrated student productions and performers from around Dallas-Fort Worth for their recent work on Saturday, May 2 at the Music Hall at Fair Park.

The Tony Awards-style ceremony, hosted by Dallas native and Broadway star Rachel Simone Webb, featured student performances, award presentations including $70,000 in scholarships, and acceptance speeches from the winners.

The Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards aim to inspire and honor excellence in high school musical theater, and to recognize the importance of musical theater and arts education within the North Texas community, a release says.

Awards were presented in 15 categories and scholarships were awarded to outstanding graduating seniors who are nominated by their teachers and selected by the Broadway Dallas scholarship panel.

The 2026 Outstanding Musical Award went to JJ Pearce High School’s production of Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, and the awards for Outstanding Lead Performer were presented to Towdah Kiima (Rockwall-Heath High School) and Nevaeha Wilson (Cleburne High School).

"On behalf of everyone at Broadway Dallas, I proudly extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the talented winners and nominees who made our 15th anniversary year of the High School Musical Theatre Awards truly unforgettable,” said Ken Novice, president and CEO of Broadway Dallas, in a statement. "We commend the hard work demonstrated by these exceptional high school theater departments and it’s clear that the future of live theater in our region is exceptionally bright.”

In honor of the Music Hall Centennial, a symbolic 100 high school productions from 90 participating high schools were evaluated by a group of judges from the North Texas theater community.

A list of all 2026 winners, participating high schools, and their productions can be found at BroadwayDallas.org/HSMTA.
