The hunt is on
Art Quest returns to Dallas this summer with 3 new sculpture-scavenger hunts
Local art group AURORA is bringing back Art Quest, their art discovery program that will sent participants on a scavenger hunt through three Dallas neighborhoods in June.
Using neighborhoods identified in the Dallas Cultural Plan, the program seeks to connect diverse communities with regional artists through interactive, scavenger hunt-style events, a release says.
Art Quest will take place on June 3 in Pleasant Grove, June 10 in Bachmann Lake, and June 17 in South Dallas. Sculptures will be placed at a new secret outdoor location in the three neighborhoods on each of the three Art Quest dates.
The clues to begin the quest will be revealed on the Saturday of the quest, at 10 am on AURORA’s Instagram feed. The first finder can collect it on the spot, along with a certificate of authenticity, and will have the chance for a one-on-one studio visit with the artist who created it.
AURORA has commissioned three sculptures developed through the use of 3D printing technologies from artists Eliza Au, Karla Garcia, and Hobbes Vincent.
AURORA started the Art Quest program in 2022, with participants winning artworks by regional artists Andrew F. Scott, Brooks Oliver, Heather Gorham, Erich Trich, and Victor Enam.
