NorthPark celebrates a big birthday with 50 days of philanthropic giving
In celebration of 50 years of Dallas shopping domination, NorthPark Center announced it would be celebrating its birthday in a very special way. Called "NorthPark50: Fifty Years of Giving," this initiative plans to give to 50 organizations for 50 days from now through October 28.
Organizations were selected for the giving campaign based on existing relationships in the community, as well as a few who will be partners for the first time. Whether the organizations are coming from the arts, health, education, social work or community service, all are recognized as playing a vital role in Dallas' thriving philanthropic community.
"For 50 years, NorthPark Center has had the great opportunity to partner with numerous non-profit organizations, helping them reach new audiences and raise funds for important causes," Nancy Nasher, co-owner of NorthPark Center, said. "As we embark on NorthPark Center’s 50th anniversary year, we thought of no better way to celebrate than by giving back to the organizations that we treasure."
The organizations selected are varied, from the Dallas Women's Foundation and Habitat for Humanity to Dallas Center for Architecture and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. For the full list of all 50 organizations, visit the NorthPark50: Fifty Years of Giving website.
NorthPark also announced a new partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas and is hosting the Give Back celebration in honor of North Texas Giving Day on September 17. You can find all the details involving gifts on NorthPark's website and across all social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) using the hashtag #NorthPark50.
