Keeping Up With a Kardashian
Kim Kardashian braves Dallas icemageddon to be with Kanye West
Straight out of a Tammy Wynette song, reality-TV star Kim Kardashian came to Dallas to stand by her man Kanye West, who was in town for a concert at American Airlines Center. Uncowed by the icepocalypse, Kardashian braved frigid weather and icy roads to accompany West, who performed back-to-back shows in Dallas and Houston on December 8 and 9.
Kardashian's journey included stops at Highland Park Village, Mi Cocina and the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. As is her wont, her travels showed up on Twitter. On Saturday afternoon, she tweeted a photo of the Ritz-Carlton's festive display of red flowers, with the words, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. #Dallas" The photo has garnered nearly half a million likes on Instagram.
On the same day, she generously submitted to having her photo taken with some Park Cities youths at the Mi Cocina in HP Village, where she and West had lunch. One of those youths was the son of Tanya Foster, actress and former CEO of the Dallas Film Society.
"My son is a senior at Highland Park High School, and with the schools shut down, he happened to be there at lunch," Foster says. "He called and said, 'She's at Mi Cocina.' She was there eating lunch with Kanye."
Kanye was camera-shy but Kim was more gracious. "He would not pose for the picture, but she was happy to," Foster says.
