Texas A&M evacuated by foot after bomb threat even as big-game fever grips campus
Another day, another bomb threat at a major Texas college.
Texas A&M University is joining the ranks of colleges evacuated due to bomb threats, with school officials instructing everyone to leave campus Friday afternoon in an emergency message. The Aggies' evacuation instructions are very specific too: Leave by foot (no vehicles) and head north.
This evacuation comes one day after Texas State University continued to hold classes after a bomb threat aimed at its admissions building. Texas A&M has already canceled all its classes for the remainder of the day.
Of course, Texas A&M is set to host LSU in one of the most-anticipated football games in school history early Saturday (with an 11 am kickoff at Kyle Field) and has a number of events scheduled on campus today in advance of the game (not to mention the TV crews that have already set up shop).
There is no word yet when people will be allowed back on campus.
