Rolling Stones choose Dallas as only Texas stop on Sticky Fingers tour
The Rolling Stones have announced a 15-city North American stadium tour, and Dallas — or, more specifically, Arlington — is on the list. Their Zip Code tour, which launches in San Diego on May 24, hits AT&T Stadium in Arlington on June 6.
It's the only stop in Texas.
The tour also hits Columbus, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Detroit and Buffalo before wrapping in Quebec on July 15.
"We are excited to be back in North America playing stadiums this summer," Mick Jagger said in a release. "We are looking forward to being back on stage and playing your favorite songs."
The Zip Code tour will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood back on the road after their critically acclaimed 14 On Fire tour in Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in 2014. It's the first Rolling Stones tour since the band played North American stadiums on 2005-2007's A Bigger Bang Tour.
The stage design for the stadium shows will include a thrust that extends deep into the audience, allowing the Stones to interact directly with their fans. The set will also feature video screens and special effects.
The tour coincides with the May 26 re-release of their 1971 album, Sticky Fingers, one of the band's most revered releases with tracks such as "Brown Sugar," "Wild Horses," "Bitch" and "Dead Flowers."
Tickets and VIP packages for the Arlington show go on sale Monday, April 13, at 10 am. American Express card members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning at 10 am, Wednesday, April 8, through Sunday, April 12, at 10 pm for select markets.
