Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell puts Dallas on newly announced solo tour
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is launching a fall 2015 acoustic tour that includes two stops in Texas — one in Dallas and one in Austin, for an appearance on Austin City Limits.
The tour, which launches on September 20 in Los Angeles, marks Cornell's release of a new solo album, Higher Truth.
The Dallas date is November 1, at the Majestic Theatre; it's the second-last show of the tour. The Austin date is the finale on November 2, Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater.
Higher Truth comes out on September 18. It's Cornell's first solo album since the 2009 release of Scream. He's done solo tours previously such as the one in 2007 that included a stop at House of Blues Dallas. Soundgarden has come through Texas twice in the past two years: in 2013, when they made stops in May in Houston, Austin and Dallas; and in 2014, when they toured with Nine Inch Nails.
