Starring Owen Wilson and Amy Poehler
Chuck E. Cheese's and Deep Ellum's Reel FX team up for turkey movie magic
A mouse and two turkeys walk into a business meeting. Several hours later, after some hardline negotiating tactics involving a wheel of cheese, the two parties agree on a partnership for an animated movie involving turkeys and time travel.
At least that’s probably how Chuck E. Cheese’s and film studio Reel FX decided to produce a Thanksgiving comedy called Free Birds.
Free Birds is the first feature-length animated movie from Reel FX.
The feature-length animated movie is a first for Reel FX and opens November 1. Free Birds stars Dallas’ Owen Wilson along with Amy Poehler and Woody Harrelson in, “the story of two turkeys from opposite sides of the track who must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history — and get turkey off the menu for good.”
That is a ridiculous premise, so it makes sense to partner with a pizza chain that features a giant mouse playing a guitar.
Of course, this isn't the first time the two North Texas companies (Reel FX is based in Deep Ellum; Chuck E. Cheese's in Irving) have teamed up for our entertainment.
Reel FX helped Chuck E. Cheese's revitalize the look and attitude of its mascot last year. The new-and-improved mouse is currently frightening and delighting children in more than 520 locations across the country.
