Kick up your cowboy boots at Omni PGA Frisco Resort's month of holiday magic

The luxurious, 660-acre Omni PGA Frisco Resort is transforming into a holiday wonderland this December, with miles of garland and lights and more than two dozen different holiday trees across the property. The most magical of these will be the 35-foot tree in the Monument Realty PGA District, which will feature a custom animated light display set to classic holiday music.

The resort has named the experience Home On The Range For The Holidays, and it includes activities that are open to both resort guests and the general public.

On December 1, Dude Perfect will kick off the first tree lighting celebration, as well as host a meet-and-greet exclusively with resort guests beforehand who are part of the Home On The Range For The Holidays resort package that night.

Available for weekend stays December 1-23, the package includes luxury accommodations, valet parking, character breakfast, a family fun pass, and one amenity for each registered child.

Other experiences that are only available for resort guests include:

Santa Jingle Hour: Meet Santa himself from 3:30-4:45 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Holiday Movie Night: Don your best holiday jammies and settle in for a family favorite holiday movie inside the resort.
S’mores on the Terrace: Toast your favorite treats on the resort’s terrace each night.
Hands-on experiences inside the resort include Christmas crafts, a sweet treat decorating opportunity, family games, and more.
Resort guests should make sure to try the Holiday Ranger Scavenger Hunt throughout the property and visit the Family Fun Room, where games and crafts are available all day.

In the PGA District, public activities and experiences are around each corner, such as encountering live reindeer and festive holiday characters, a photo opportunity with a real longhorn, and trips on the Fields Ranch Holiday Express train. Children can meet up with elf balloon artists, write and mail letters to Santa, and create holiday keepsake ornaments.

All ages can experience Putting for Presents, a 9-hole putting experience on The Dance Floor with fun prizes. Each evening, a beloved holiday film will be shown on the massive video wall adjacent to The Dance Floor.

All the restaurants in the Monument Realty PGA District will offer curated food and beverage options, and pop-up stations will serve holiday treats, snacks, and cocoa (regular and boozy) for purchase.

Other add-on experiences include an intimate visit with Santa — complete with professional digital photography — from within one of the property's beautifully decorated Ranch Houses, a chance to build a stuffed friend, and s’mores kits to use at the PGA District’s fire pits.

Omni PGA Frisco Resort will also donate a portion of all parking proceeds and collect donated toys for a different local nonprofit organization each week. The opening weekend, December 1 and 2, will benefit Make-A-Wish North Texas.

Tickets to Home On The Range For The Holidays events are free for resort guests who purchase the special room package, and general public tickets can be bought at pgafrisco.com/events.

The High 5 Exchange in Austin has bowling galore.

A new family entertainment destination is rolling into Allen, bringing bowling, laser tag, miniature golf, virtual reality, and more. Called High 5 Exchange, the venue has broken ground at 2361 Quail Covey Rd. in The Farm in Allen.

It is expected to open in 2027, according to a release.

High 5 Exchange comes from a family entertainment company founded by husband-and-wife team Scott and Jenny Emley. They opened the first location in the Lakeway area of Austin more than a decade ago; a second Austin location followed a few years later.

Their roots are in Austin - Scott Emley played football for UT Austin - but the couple recently relocated to McKinney. There's also a location under construction in Mansfield.

The entertainment mega-center in Allen will combine indoor and outdoor attractions, dining, and rooms for parties and other group events.

Bowling will be the major draw, with 24 lanes supplied by QubicaAMF. The lineup will include 16 traditional tenpin lanes equipped with EDGE String pinspotters, HyperBowling, and Neoverse, along with eight Fly'n Ducks duckpin lanes, the release says. The combination will give guests the choice between traditional full-length bowling and duckpin bowling, which uses a smaller ball.

"Bowling has a unique ability to bring different generations, interests and skill levels together," said Jody Pastula, director of new business development, U.S., for QubicaAMF, in a statement. "By offering both tenpin and Fly'n Ducks duckpin bowling, High 5 Allen is creating more ways for guests to participate and share the experience. We are pleased to be part of a project designed around connection, variety and repeat visits."

Beyond bowling, High 5 Allen will feature laser tag, a virtual reality arena, an arcade gaming floor, escape rooms, an immersive experience from Creative Works called "Limitless," and outdoor miniature golf. The venue will also have dedicated spaces for birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and private events, along with food and beverage service.

While details on the food and beverage program have not yet been announced, the Austin locations feature a full-service bar and a menu of "American classics with a gourmet twist."

High 5 Exchange will be part of The Farm in Allen, a 135-acre mixed-use development at the southeast corner of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Drive. Developed by Allen-based JaRyCo Development in partnership with the Johnson family, The Farm combines residential, office, dining, retail, and entertainment components.

"Allen and the surrounding communities have been part of our vision for this project from the beginning," said Scott Emley, co-founder and CEO of High 5 Exchange, in a statement. "The Farm brings together homes, workplaces, parks, dining and entertainment in a way that fits how people want to connect.

"We are excited to create a place where a family can spend an afternoon, coworkers can gather after work, and friends can celebrate the moments that matter."
