A '50s home in original condition is for sale in Dallas with a rare feature: a set of original metal kitchen cabinets rendered in a breathtaking pastel pink. The home is in Lakewood, just a few blocks west of White Rock Lake at 6946 Delrose Dr.
2. Dallas bar's presence in Super Bowl ad about Jesus sparks controversy. The good news: A Dallas bar was featured in an ad on the Super Bowl. The bad news: Not everyone liked it. Lee Harvey’s, the dive bar in Dallas' Cedar District, got national exposure when it was featured in a Super Bowl commercial on February 11 for He Gets Us, a religious advertising campaign that launched in 2022 with a goal to “rediscover and share the compelling story of Jesus’ life in a new way."
3. Birdcall restaurant and its fried chicken sandwiches swoop into Richardson. A new chicken restaurant is coming in for a landing: Birdcall, a Denver-based chain that specializes in fried chicken sandwiches and salads, will open a location in Richardson, at 507 W. Belt Line Rd. The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, February 19.
4. One-of-a-kind Nepalese restaurant with secret speakeasy opens in Arlington. It's not a reach to say that Taipo, a newly opened restaurant in downtown Arlington, is one-of-a-kind. The restaurant features Nepalese food, which on its own is unique in Dallas-Fort Worth. But it also comes with a hidden speakeasy, perfect for late-night gatherings or romantic dates.
5. Flavored margarita king Taco Cabana debuts kitschy new Texas flavor. San Antonio-based Tex-Mex chain Taco Cabana, which has become almost as famous for its margaritas as its tacos, has a new kitschy new flavor in the works, made in partnership with Texas soft drink Big Red.
