A cappella for the win
Pentatonix celebrates holidays in DFW with new 'Christmas Spectacular' show
Arlington's own Pentatonix will come back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area as part of their "Pentatonix: A Christmas Spectacular! 2022 Tour," performing at Dickies Arena on Tuesday, November 22.
The a cappella group will travel to 22 different cities as part of the tour, starting on November 17 in Oakland, California, and running through December 22. The Fort Worth stop will be the group's only tour date in Texas.
They will be joined by folk trio Girl Named Tom, Season 21 winners of The Voice, as the tour’s special guests.
Since winning the third season of NBC's The Sing -Off in 2011, the group - made up of singers Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee - has become known for their Christmas albums, which comprise five of their 10 albums released so far. And they'll make it 6-for-11 with their upcoming release, Holidays Around the World, due out on October 28.
“The holidays have taken on a new meaning for all of us over the past couple of years," said Hoying in a statement. "We cherish this time of year more than ever. However, we wanted to spread this message as far as possible. That’s why we decided to bridge the gap between cultures and genres in a way we never have before. Now, we can’t wait to see all of you on the road.”
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Friday, September 23 at 10 am via Ticketmaster.com.
