Where to Shop Now
Where to shop in Dallas right now: 7 must-hit shops for January
What is happening? We were just shopping for holiday party attire, and now here it is time to prep our spring break getaway wardrobes. The good news? Resort 2020 is looking nice. Even if you're not quite thinking that far ahead yet, here are some new stores and newsy retail developments for your January shopping list.
Acquisitions Dallas
New to the Dallas Design District and located at 1710 Hi Line Dr., this one-stop interior design shop includes furniture, interiors, and antiques. Because who doesn't love a good mix of old and new? The best thing about this store is that it offers the public a chance to shop goods that, many times, have to be ordered through the trade. Think rugs, pillows, chairs, benches, and much more.
Beyond Baroque
The beloved jewelry and accessories boutique, previously located in Uptown, has moved to Travis Walk center. After 21 years, the owners have built a loyal following, and they think the new location — across from the Katy Trail, and sharing a patio with popular restaurants Ziziki's, Le Bilboquet, and Georgie — is an exciting next step for their business. Find the new storefront at 4514 Travis St., Ste. 130.
Estée Lauder-brand shop at DFW Terminal D
Here's help for those who need makeup and skincare on-the-go. Fans of four of Estée Lauder's brands — Becca, Too Faced, Bobbi Brown, and Glam Glow — will appreciate this new retail concept that includes hydration essentials for long flights, gifts for people you are flying to see, and favorite products you forgot to pack. It's located at Terminal D, where all the cool retail and restaurants are, near Gate 25.
Foxtrot Market
Until recently, this writer thought the Chicago-based market was just a go-to place to snag a quick coffee and a baked good. Come to find out it's also a great place to stock up on home decor, clean beauty, and other lifestyle items. A recent visit yielded a couple of delicious candles, coffee table books, and a jade roller. Big bonus that they deliver. Find one location in University Park and another in Uptown.
Golden Goose
It was only a matter of time before the Italian sneaker brand, which became an overnight success in Dallas, opened its first Texas boutique in NorthPark Center. Known for its flashy footwear for women, men, and kids that makes "vintage"-looking sneakers chic, Golden Goose's shoes typically range from $300 to $600. (It sells a well-edited selection of other apparel, too.) The store can be found on level one between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
La Vie Style House
The local pop-up that opened before the holidays was, not surprisingly, a huge success. So much so that the brand has decided to extend its stay in Highland Park Village, originally set to expire December 31, until February 21. Located between Etro and Valentino, the boutique houses the brand's latest collections and allows shoppers the luxury of trying on the product before purchasing.
Neiman Marcus Downtown
Get engaged during the holiday season? Helping a friend plan their dream wedding? Circle January 18 on the calendar and head downtown to meet with bridal experts and learn the latest tips and tricks for your wedding celebrations. Because seating is limited, make a reservation by emailing rsvpdowntown@neimanmarcus.com. The event is happening at the Glass House on the second floor, 1-3 pm.
