Diamonds are a girl's best friend
Anne Hathaway overcomes Oscar gown trip-up with trendsetting Tiffany necklace
When Anne Hathaway stepped onto the red carpet at the 85th Annual Academy Awards in a pink Prada gown that attracted a lot of unfortunate attention, the fashion faithful were surprised she didn't wear a gown designed by her close friend, Valentino. (She later apologized for slighting his fashion house.)
But no one was shocked that she was wearing a chunky floral diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. The necklace comes from the jeweler's 2013 Blue Book Collection, which was recently unveiled at the New York flagship store and will available for purchase in May.
Hathaway, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables, wore the $485,000 diamond and platinum necklace backward on her big night, which seems quite the trend. Best Actress Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence also wore her Chopard diamond strand necklace backward.
Hathaway accented the necklace with Lucinda earrings and diamond bracelets, also from Tiffany.
It's not the first time that Hathaway has worn Tiffany. When she co-hosted the Oscars with James Franco in 2011, she wore a 94-carat, $10 million Lucida Star diamond necklace from the jeweler. She also wore Tiffany 10-carat diamond earrings and a 5-carat diamond ring with a Valentino red gown with a magnificent train and detailed side bow.
