New Highland Park Village boutique rescues post-quarantine wardrobes
Nothing's looking better than comfy kimonos and roomy caftans in these post-quarantine days, so the time couldn't be more right for La Vie Style House to open a flagship store at Dallas’ Highland Park Village.
Located at 60 Highland Park Village in an old Forty Five Ten space, the boutique will open October 1, following much success at the shopping center's pop-up and market events, a release says.
“We are delighted that our flagship store is going into our dream location within Highland Park Village," says La Vie co-founder and Dallas native Lindsey McClain.
She and Jamie Coulter of Los Angeles — both successful former stylists — introduced La Vie Style House online in 2013 as a well-edited collection of playful one-size-fits-all caftans and kimonos. All garments are handmade in the United States and take inspiration from vintage clothing.
Fast-forward seven years, and their Dallas flagship debuts after months of working from home, Netflix-binging, and wine-drinking — when the term "one-size-fits-all" sounds pretty dreamy compared to zipping up last year's jeans.
The boutique will house the brand’s luxury caftans, kimonos, shirts, and turbans, and will include unique accessories. Prices range from about $550 for a short caftan to about $1,050 for a one-of-a-kind, embellished piece.
"The storefront is inspired by a pink Parisian jewelry box — a wonderland of ornate caftans and kimonos," McClain describes.
In keeping with the brand’s ethos, the collection will showcase La Vie Style House’s vintage inspirations, world travels, and independent streak, the owners say. It will retain the "effortlessly cool and playful" vibe that Dallas customers have already come to know and love, they say.
"We saw the support of Dallas with our pop-up last winter, and we can't wait to see what this partnership brings," Coulter says.
