9 Dallas-Fort Worth hospitals declared best in Texas by U.S. News

UT Southwestern retained its position as the No. 2 best Texas hospital for 2025.
U.S. News & World Report has released its 2025 rankings of the best hospitals in Texas, and they prove that Dallas-Fort Worth is in good hands.
Dallas' esteemed UT Southwestern Medical Center was rated the second-best hospital in Texas for the ninth year in a row, and the No. 1 hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth. Eight more DFW hospitals earned spots among the statewide top 35.
U.S. News annually evaluates 581 Texas hospitals to determine which meet the publication's rigorous standards and offer the best care for patients. Hospitals are also ranked among 15 specialties, including cancer; cardiology, heart and vascular surgery; obstetrics and gynecology; orthopedics; psychiatry; rehabilitation; diabetes and endocrinology; and more.
Houston Methodist Hospital reigns as the No. 1 Texas hospital for 2025; it shared the top spot with UT Southwestern in 2023.
UT Southwestern earned top-50 rankings across 12 of the 15 total specialties nationwide, and it earned recognition for having the 9th best neurology and neurosurgery program in the country.
"This recognition reflects the expertise, collaboration, and commitment to providing the very best care possible to our patients – a standard of excellence that extends across all we do, from educating future leaders in science and medicine to advancing discovery and providing exceptional care," said UT Southwestern president Daniel K. Podolsky, M.D. in a press release.
Elsewhere in Dallas-Fort Worth, Baylor University Medical Center maintained its status as the third-best hospital in Texas, and the second-best in the region.
Other top-performing Dallas-Fort Worth hospitals that ranked among the best in Texas include:
- No. 13 – Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center - Fort Worth (tied with Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston)
- No. 15 – Medical City Dallas (tied with Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio)
- No. 18 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas
- No. 21 – Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth (tied with Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital and Methodist Hospital - Stone Oak in San Antonio)
- No. 25 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano (tied with Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Round Rock-Lakeway, HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Webster, and St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital)
- No. 29 – Medical City Plano (tied with University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston)
- No. 31 – Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest in Fort Worth (tied with St. David's North Austin Medical Center and Texoma Medical Center in Denison)
