Deion Sanders' sporty Prosper wonderland heads to auction block with no reserve
We so predicted this, but now it’s official: The Proper estate of former Dallas Cowboys football star and Prime Prep Academy founder Deion Sanders will head to the auction block — with zero reserve. Zero!
Concierge Auctions is spearheading the November 18 auction, in cooperation with Jonathan Rosen of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. The pad — newly dubbed Lone Star on Preston — was once listed at $12.9 million, and it’s on books with Collin County Appraisal District for just over $11.7 million, if that gives anyone a starting hint.
Sanders’ former residence — he is currently living in Lake Ridge and has tweeted that he closed on 106 acres to build it all over again — is a whopping 29,000 square feet on 9.4 acres, featuring 10 bedrooms and 10 baths. This is also the home he shared with his former wife, Pilar, and their children.
Wait, you say. I thought Sanders’ home was on, like, 110 acres? Well, most of those were sold off to Bloomfield Homes Inc. out of Southlake, to be developed into luxury estate homes.
Anyway, Concierge got the auction, and now it is taking this place into the end zone, hoping to score a major sale. Which it surely will do without a reserve.
Back to the details. The property includes a regulation-sized indoor basketball court, barber shop, bowling alley, media room, arcade with wet bar, indoor and outdoor pools with spas, full-sized football field, tennis courts, 14-bay garage with two bays to fit a yacht or RV, cabana and full exterior kitchen, and 8-acre lake with fountain and private dock.
Inside are soaring ceilings with large crown moldings, marble inlay floors, multiple gas fireplaces and gold faux-finish walls. The master has a glass wall rotunda with views of pool, extensive built-in cabinetry, Brunelleschi- and Bernini-inspired columns with Corinthian capitals, custom circle bed with built-in headboard and side tables, black granite gas fireplace, and a walk-out patio to outdoor entertainment.
Yep, that round bed’s included.
“This property is one-of-a-kind,” says listing agent Jonathan Rosen in a release. “Deion Sanders, one of the greatest athletes to ever live, built this house to the highest standards of excellence and to have a lot of fun. The lucky next owner of Lone Star on Preston will have unlimited access to all of the luxuries Deion enjoyed here, and plenty of room to share this incredible experience with friends.”
Though there is no reserve, don’t think anyone will buy this home for as little as one dollar. A minimum price will be set. You need $100,000 to bid.
