Frisco Eatery
Healthy cafe preps new lunch destination in sizzling Frisco
A branch of Newk's Eatery, the Mississippi-based fast-casual chain, is coming to a new complex in Frisco. Newk's will open at Hall Park as the first retail tenant at Park Plaza, a new, stand-alone retail center off of Gaylord Parkway at Hall Park. This will be Newk’s first location in Frisco; it will open in spring 2017.
Hall Park is Hall Group's office development in Frisco, with 2.5 million square feet of office space throughout 17 buildings. According to Hall Group representative Kim Butler, Park Plaza is expected to be a daily destination for employees in those 17 buildings.
"We know their healthy, fast-casual menu items will be a great fit for the companies at the park," she says in a release.
Newk's was established in 2004. It comes from the founders of McAlister's Deli. Newk's is an abbreviation of their family name, Newcomb. The menu features sandwiches, salads, and pizza with Cali-style toppings such as barbecue chicken and spicy shrimp.
There are currently 96 Newk's in 13 states. The first branch in North Texas opened in Plano in 2013, another branch opened in Irving in 2016.
Hall Park is currently completing a park-wide update, which includes the addition of Park Plaza. There's also a 10,000-square-foot fitness facility; a conference center; three miles of walking trails; a wine lounge; outdoor, Wi-Fi-enabled lakeside meeting and event spaces; and a 200-piece art collection. There is everything you need to never, ever leave the premises.
