Where to drink in Dallas right now: Best new happy hours for July
July is here, and that calls for another chapter of our monthly Where to Drink feature, spotlighting the best new happy hours in town.
This lineup of happy hours has discounts on cocktails, snacks, beer, and wine. They can be found at swanky new lounges, hotel bars, and casual eateries at the Dallas Farmers Market.
Here's where to drink right now:
The Clover Club
Swanky new bar-restaurant and retro live music venue is from celebrated bar manager Eddie "Lucky" Campbell and his partner Brad Woy; they're the team that also owns the Standard Pour. They're hosting a killer happy hour at this new spot, specifically on its showcase rooftop patio, with special cocktails for $5. Featured drinks include the Moscow mule; Old Fashioned; turmeric-basil gimlet; French 75: and their signature Clover Club, with gin, egg white, lemon juice, and raspberry syrup. If you're feeling splurgy, bottles of Moët & Chandon Brut or Kettle One are $100. Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 6-9 pm, rooftop only.

Newly opened open-air restaurant and bar in the South Victory part of Victory Park is offering a summer happy hour with snacks, cocktails, beer, and wine. Appetizers range from $5.50-$8, with items such as smoky carrot hummus, calamari lettuce wraps, parmesan kale dip, pulled pork nachos, and cheese fries. Cocktails are $5 and include the Salty Dawg, Hero Mule, Cucumber Collins, Pineapple Passionfruit Daiquiri, Margarita, and Old Fashioned. Frozen drinks are $7. Select red and white wines are $6. Draft beer starts at $3. Hours: Monday-Friday 3-6 pm.
Mudhen Meat and Greens
Restaurant at the Dallas Farmers Market has a cute happy hour every Friday they call the Plower Hour, which combines deals on food and drink. Craft beers on draft are $3. Canned craft beers are $5. House red or white wine on tap is $6 per glass or $24 per carafe. Craft cocktails, including their Mudhen margarita, Old Fashioned, Hummingbird water, and ginger mules, are $5. Cocktails with fresh fruit, including one called Turnip the Beat and another called Gordon's Garden, are $7. Basil flatbread is $8. Green chili pulled pork tacos are $6. Grass-fed burger is $10. Hours: Fridays 4-10 pm.
Petro Bar and Bistro
Restaurant inside the Cambria Downtown Dallas has a new happy hour featuring $5 cocktails and small bites, with 30 percent off all beers and wine by the glass. There's a different cocktail for each day of the week. Sundays, it's the Moscow Mule. Monday — Old Fashioned, Tuesday — daiquiri, Wednesday — margarita, Thursday — Aperol spritz, Friday — Deep Eddy Lemon highball, Saturday — French 75. Snacks are $3-$4 and include chicken taco, beef sliders, and togarashi fries. Hours: Daily 4-7 pm.
Taqueria La Ventana
The Dallas Farmers Market location of this upscale, authentic taqueria mini-chain has a new happy hour with drinks and snacks. Margaritas, micheladas, and beers are $3. And you can get two tacos for $3. Seems like the Farmers Market is where it's at right now. Hours: Monday-Thursday 3-7 pm, Friday 3-9 pm.
