Fireside Pies opens new pizzeria in northeast Dallas' Lake Highlands
The Lake Highlands neighborhood keeps cooking, and now it has an acclaimed new pizzeria in the works: Fireside Pies, the Dallas chain that helped improve the local pizza scene by miles, will open a location at 6750 Abrams Rd., Ste. 105, at the intersection of Abrams and Skillman in the Creekside Shopping Center.
According to a release, the restaurant will open in October.
Fireside was founded by restaurateur team Tristan Simon and chef Nick Badovinus who opened the first location on Henderson Avenue in 2004. Its amazing wood-fired pies, with billowy crusts and rustic high-end toppings, profoundly changed the face of pizza in Dallas.
It was a simple but good menu with pastas and salads, a small but interesting wine list, and craft cocktails at a time when craft cocktails weren't yet a thing.
Fireside Pies was acquired by the Chalak Mitra Group (Genghis Grill) in 2014, who then sold it to Lenpar LLC, based in Richardson, in 2018.
Lake Highlands will be the third location in Dallas and the sixth in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Each Fireside Pies restaurant mirrors the character of its neighborhood, so no two are the same. In the case of Lake Highlands, that includes a focus on craft beer, with 20 on tap.
"We're excited to share yet another Fireside Pies location with fans in the Dallas area,” says Chris Mitchell, Lenpar COO.
