This Week in Gluttony
These are the 6 best food and drink events in Dallas this week
The week of Thanksgiving is somehow upon us. And for those who are looking forward to something other than gathering with family and friends for turkey and "all the things," we have a couple of alternative options to savor this week.
Tuesday, November 26
Chocolate, Cheese, and Bubbles Class at Scardello Artisan Cheese
There is still a seat or two available for this epic class that focuses on our favorite things — chocolate, cheese, and bubbles, of course. Some pairings are expected and others are unique and seemingly out of left field. Tickets are $40 and the class starts at 7 pm.
Vegan Thanksgiving Cornucopia 2019 at V-Eats Modern Vegan at Trinity Groves
This fourth annual event features a stellar array of vegan food, drinks, and fun. Guests are able to enjoy one entree, two sides, and dessert. The event is happening both Tuesday and Wednesday and there are seatings at 5, 6:30, and 8 pm. Tickets are $30 or you can also pick up a la carte items to go.
Wednesday, November 27
Friendsgiving with Pat Green at The Rustic
What could be better than a Thanksgiving-eve concert featuring the three-time Grammy nominee and owner who put this venue on the map? Tickets start at $27, and there will also be VIP options that include pre-party access, passed apps, and signed memorabilia. The concert starts at 8 pm.
Thursday, November 28
Happy Thanksgiving! If you're looking for a restaurant open today, dining editor Teresa Gubbins has your feasting needs covered. Gobble gobble.
Saturday, November 30
Guest Chef Tailgate BBQ at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas
Pitmaster and guest chef Jack Arnold from Snake River Farms and Big Green Egg invade Dallas to showcase the ultimate grilling experience at the Pavilion. Executive chef Christof Syré is collaborating with Chef Jack for a mouthwatering menu, in addition to tips and grilling techniques on the Big Green Egg. Menu items include bourbon molasses glazed Snake River Farms kurobuta pork shoulder tacos, Texas bobby quail, charred fall veggie kebabs with chimichurri, and more. Tickets are $65 and the event kicks off at 6 pm.
Light up Lowest Greenville starting at The Libertine Bar
The neighborhood is coming together for a great cause and offering special drinks and snacks, in addition to selling unique holiday ornaments. A tree-lighting will take place later in the evening. The event is partnering with Reverse Food Truck, which is an organization that collects food with the goal of putting hunger in the rearview mirror. Admission is free; however, all attendees are encouraged to bring some of the organization's most-needed items as a donation. The fun starts at 4 pm.
