At the newly opened Pane Nostro, savor a taste of Italy without ever leaving McKinney
There’s nothing like being home for the holidays, but a night in Italy doesn't sound so bad either.
Pay a visit to the recently opened Pane Nostro in McKinney’s charming Adriatica Village, and you'll automatically be transported on a European culinary adventure.
The dining experience at this family-run restaurant is steeped in many years of history and tradition, originally forged in Southern Italy — specifically, Calabria. And you can taste it in every single time-honored dish.
The owners’ passion for their homeland is palpable with the authentic flavors of the classic Italian menu, where you can make a meal out of the antipasti alone — from arancini and calamari fritti to buttery burrata, cozze Adriatica (mussels in tomato saffron broth), and more.
Don’t miss the homemade pasta, though, as it’s a masterclass in saucy carbs — think linguine pesto, penne arrabiata, potato and truffle gnocchi, spaghetti carbonara, classic lasagna, risotto, and the ultimate comfort dish: Bolognese.
There’s also a lobster ravioli bursting with lobster tail meat that is surely calling your name, while the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Prime porterhouse) is perfect for two.
You can also toast the season with Pane Nostro’s Italian-inspired cocktails, as well as a full Italian wine list that features both familiar and small-batch varietals. Make a reservation on Tuesdays, and enjoy half-price bottles along with your meal.
Pane Nostro literally means “our bread,” and that’s indicative of the restaurant's beautiful and welcoming setting, which is also perfect for special events and private dining.
