Cult fave Bojangles fried chicken chain breaks ground on first Dallas location
To great anticipation, a favorite Southern fried chicken chain is finally coming to Dallas (and Texas!): Bojangles, a chain based in Charlotte, NC will break ground on a location in Frisco, slated to open this spring.
According to a release, this is one of six locations opening in the DFW market, as the brand makes its debut in the Lone Star State.
The chain has plans to open restaurants across North Texas, including Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin Counties.
For those unfamiliar with their reputation, Bojangles was founded in 1977 and enjoys a strong following across the Southeast.
It's known for its biscuits, breaded chicken, and Southern-inspired sides such as dirty rice, mac & cheese, and Cajun pinto beans, as well as their "Legendary Iced Tea" (aka sweet tea).
The menu features chicken sandwiches, including the signature Bo's Chicken Sandwich, a chicken breast with a crunchy buttermilk coating, topped with dill pickle slices and mayo, served on a toasted, buttered bun; and chicken biscuit sandwiches, including the Cajun Chicken sandwich with chicken in a "bold blend of seasonings," served on a biscuit.
There are also breakfast biscuit sandwiches such as sausage & egg and bacon & egg, as well as biscuits with gravy.
Back in 2021, the company signed a deal with a Dallas franchise group and also plans to open 15 corporate-owned locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Now, huzzah, the day has arrived.
The location is at 1631 US Highway 380, Frisco, and they'll break ground on February 13. There's another opening at 2821 Eldorado Pkwy. in Frisco, where construction will commence in late February.
