Dallas culinary team ups the office cafeteria game with new opening
A culinary team that's been upping Dallas' office building cafe game is at it again: Carver Park LBJ is a new outlet located on the ground floor of the Mohr Capital building at 4851 LBJ Fwy., where it's open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday from 8 am-3:30 pm.
Carver Park LBJ is from James Rowland and Fana Yohannes. He's the well-regarded veteran chef (Beau Nash, Bistro Nous, Greenville Avenue Bar & Grill), and she's the front-of-the-house pro from York Street and Lucia Dallas.
It's a spin-off of Carver 150, the similar office-building canteen they launched in 2013 at the Two Forest Plaza complex near Forest Lane west of 75. They followed that in 2015 with Carver Park, in a 14-story office building at 7557 Rambler Rd., near 75 and Walnut Hill Lane.
Like the original, Carver Park LBJ is open for breakfast and lunch to occupants of the office building, but also to anyone else who wants to dine in.
Menu staples include Caesar salad, poblano chicken quesadilla, and the signature Almond Chicken Salad sandwich. They also offer new specials daily.
Most of the inhouse delis you find in office buildings serve a greasy collection of low-quality fare. The Carver concepts offer an unusual level of creativity and affordability for the office-bound worker bee. They make all sauces, dressings, and desserts in-house, and they source local ingredients when possible.
Rowland says in a statement that their aim is to provide an experience unlike typical office building delicatessens.
"The philosophy behind Carver Park is to provide elevated fresh, healthy & delicious food in an office setting," he says. "We're excited to serve the tenants and neighbors of Mohr’s office building with our creative, affordable variety of dishes.”
Above all, Carver Park LBJ seeks to provide a break from the workday with good food and exceptional ambience, says Mohr Capital CEO Bob Mohr.
"Carver Park LBJ is a valuable addition to our building for tenants and the neighboring area," Mohr says. "While the office market has recently experienced significant challenges, Mohr remains committed to the sector and is actively enhancing its buildings and amenities."
