Frutilicious aims to be the first Mexican fruit snack shop in Forney

Frutilicious fruit pops
A fresh Mexican snacks shop is coming to Forney: Called Frutilicious, it’s a family-run spot opening at the newly-built Fountain Shopping Center at 16401 FM 548, at the corner of Windmill Farms Boulevard, where it's slated to open in August.
The family behind Frutilicious is former marketing pro Ricardo Jimenez, his wife Sofia Jimenez, and their two sons, who are launching their first business to fill a need in Forney for custom-made fresh juices and smoothies, frozen desserts, crepes, and trendy snacks.
They started Frutilicious as a pop-up in 2025, setting up at different shops and centers around Forney, then seized on the location once they saw the new center being built.
"I don't think it'll be hard to get people there with my marketing experience," Ricardo says.
If you've grown up around Mexican fruterias — stores with fresh fruits and vegetables, juices, snacks, and prepared fruit-based treats — there's really nothing like them.
“There’s a lot of Mexican fruterias in Dallas, but not in Forney," Ricardo says. "My family would get a craving and we'd end up going through two hours of Dallas traffic. We knew there had to be a demand."
They'll serve watermelon, jicama, and mango seasoned with tajin, and a chamoy made from Sofia’s grandma’s recipe. (Her grandma was also famous for her elote shop in Mexico, Sofia says.)
They'll also offer snacks like elotes (corn in a cup), churros with vanilla or cajeta sauce, smoothies, ice cream, and paletas, AKA popsicles. They'll do milk-based versions in sweet flavors studded with pieces of fruit like strawberries, as well as water-/ice-based paletas where they add sour flavoring and fruit.
Other snacks will include Takis, candies coated in tajin, and crepes filled with sliced strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. Everything on the menu will be under $15. They'll also compose fruit baskets as gifts and host fun classes on fruit arrangement.
Ricardo is an enthusiast who says they're looking forward to bringing something fresh to the area — "healthy but also indulgent," he says.
