For many, Halloween takes center stage as the premier holiday of the year, and this week’s events include some with food and drink. There are costume contests paired with cocktails, a Halloween bar crawl, and hot out-of-town restaurants visiting for pop-ups.
Wednesday, October 25
Gran Centenario Tequila Dinner at Te Deseo
Upscale Harwood District Mexican restaurant will host its monthly tequila dinner, this time featuring Gran Centenario Tequila. The eclectic menu includes squash asada with pistachio green mole, posole pork-stuffed chile relleno, and smoked strawberries with ice cream and an oatmeal cookie. The dinner is $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6 pm with a cocktail reception. Plan to stay for Havana Night on the rooftop after, where dancing and complimentary cigars will await.
Louisiana Goes Lone Star
The Louisiana Travel Association is descending upon Dallas, with pop-ups at 16 restaurants where Louisiana chefs will partner with host chefs to serve specials like Cajun jambalaya, Gulf redfish, blackened flounder, crab beignets, and shrimp & grits. It's a must if you love Gulf seafood. Participating restaurants include Beatrice, Celebration, Roots Southern Table, Dodie's Reef, Dea, Ida Claire, Catbird, the Pelican House, Rye, Jose, Lounge Here, and more. Prices vary, but it begins at 7 pm. Reserve online, and some restaurants are already sold out.

Maple & Ash Pop-Up at Monarch
Chicago steakhouse will pop up in Dallas at its sister restaurant, Monarch, for six nights to offer an exclusive tasting menu. The menu will change daily, but sample dishes might include oysters, a seafood tower, and agnolotti “pillows of love” along with a meat entrée, fish entrée, and sides. (The menu is called “IDGAF,” indicating a bold, no rules-approach.) Dinner will run through October 31 and is $290 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
Bendt Rye Release Pairing Dinner at Whiskey Cake Las Colinas
Local Bendt Distilling Co. will be featured during this five-course whiskey pairing dinner, which will come with a sneak peek tasting of Bendt’s new release, Unbendt Rye. The menu is big on fall flavors with items like pomegranate and pear salad, sweet potato gnocchi, and duck breast with corn pudding and cherry port sauce. The dinner is $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 7 pm.

Dan Sake Dinner at Elephant East
The Harwood District restaurant will host a three-course dinner featuring Dan luxury Japanese sake. Menu items include spicy tempura soft shell crab, pan-seared halibut with sweet chili crisp vegetables and hibiscus beurre blanc, and pandan (a tropical plant) crème brulee. Dinner is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6 pm.

Deep Ellum Halloween Bar Crawl
Bar crawlers get five complimentary welcome shots at five participating bars during this Halloween bar crawl down the streets of Deep Ellum. Venues include The Backyard (where the party starts), Electric Shuffle, Off the Cuff, Bottled Blonde, Trinity Cider, and more. The $26 ticket (discounted to $21 for groups of four) includes the shots along with drink specials, cover to all venues, and entry to the after party at Truth & Alibi. Check in between 2–5 pm at The Backyard.

Halloween Soiree at Ida Claire
The Southern-inspired eatery will throw a Halloween party with all the tricks and treats. There’ll be DJ music, a tarot card reader, photo booth, costume contest, and specialty Halloween cocktails, including the Zombie-tini, Grave Digger, and Golden Goblin. The party begins at 6 pm.

Terilli’s 38th Anniversary Party
Greenville Avenue Italian restaurant will host a Halloween-themed anniversary party with a very specific request for guests: arrive dressed as a toy from the '80s. (Think Mr. Potato Head, Care Bears, and the like.) There’ll be DJ music, casino games, a costume contest, and complimentary barbecue. Reservations are recommended, and the party will run from 7 pm to midnight.
