Atlanta entrepreneur Ebony Austin brings her Nouveau restaurant to Dallas
A new celebrity eatery from Atlanta is coming to Dallas: Called Nouveau Noir, it's from restaurateur-chef Ebony Austin, owner of the original Nouveau Bar & Grill, and will open at Village on the Parkway in Addison in the spring.
Nouveau Noir will be an elevated spin on her original restaurant concept, Nouveau Bar & Grill, a Chicago-themed restaurant that opened in Atlanta in October 2019. Now with two locations, it's been highlighted by Today, Good Morning America, Forbes, Essence, Parade, and Eater.
Their signature dish is the Ultimate Cajun Seafood and Grits, with shrimp, salmon, and crab over stone-ground grits, topped with peppers and onion and Cajun cream sauce.
Other menu items include Deviled Eggs, Chicken & Waffles, Jerk Wings, Turkey Burger Sliders, Sticky Fried Ribs, Four Cheese Spinach Dip, Buffalo Shrimp, Fried Shrimp Po’ Boys, Impossible Burgers, Windy City Crab Cakes, Cajun Shrimp & Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, and Michigan Avenue Ribeyes.
In a release, Austin says she's thankful to be able to bring an elevated Nouveau concept to North Dallas. Their target opening date is April.
“With Nouveau Noir, of course, you are going to get many of the items that Nouveau is famous for, but we are adding more tasty menu items, creative drinks and over-the-top events,” she says.
That includes the restaurant’s Mimosa Jam Brunch, a full-out day party consisting of live DJs, bands, food, prizes and shows. These brunches have been hosted or attended by the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Kandi Burruss, 2 Chainz, Trina, Rick Ross, Keri Hilson, Lil Mo, and Keke Wyatt.
Austin also created a hugely successful line of stone-ground grits, Nouveau Creations, which come in three flavors: Original, Garlic & Herb, and Jalapeno & Cheddar. The grits line are available in Food Lion stores throughout Georgia, with the proceeds supporting HBCU students with scholarships, food, gift cards, and more. To date, Nouveau has given away over $200,000 in scholarships to HBCU students.
In addition to the Nouveau restaurant venture, Austin has a thriving Nouveau food truck, and a multi-million-dollar real estate portfolio throughout Dallas.
