Healthy bowls chain opens restaurant in Dallas' buzzy Snider Plaza

A healthy option is coming to Dallas' Snider Plaza: Sweetgreen, the California-based fast-casual concept with salads and bowls, is opening at 6565 Hillcrest Ave #140, in the same 6565 building as Foxtrot Market, where it will debut on Tuesday, August 26.
Sweetgreen’s menu is centered around salads, grain bowls, and protein plates, with seasonal menus that rotate throughout the year.
CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman says they're excited to open what will be their sixth Dallas-Fort Worth location, then goes on to praise Snider Plaza.
“Snider Plaza’s unique mix of local boutiques, beloved eateries, and welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal place to bring Sweetgreen’s fresh, seasonal menu," he says.
The Snider Plaza location will open with new-ish summer menu items including
- Peach + Goat Cheese Salad - with peaches, goat cheese, and almonds tossed in balsamic vinaigrette
- Elote Bowl - with corn, peppers, goat cheese, tortilla chips, and a lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette
- Chicken Caprese - roasted chicken, pesto, mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes
Sweetgreen was founded in 2007 by three college students, with a philosophy that healthy food should be convenient and accessible in a fast-food setting. There are now more than 250 locations, with big concentrations on the East Coast and West, and more than a dozen locations in Texas including Houston and Austin.
They made their DFW debut in the West Village in 2021, and have since added outlets in Lakewood, Fort Worth, and Southlake. A location in Deep Ellum did not work out as well and closed in less than a year.
Sweetgreen will host two preview tastings for the community on August 22-August 23 from 12-6 pm, offering a free meal before the official opening.
