Famous family joins Dallas cinephiles to kick off John Wayne Film Festival
The John Wayne Film Festival held its official kick-off party at Look Cinemas, and everyone in attendance was buzzing about this exciting opportunity that awaits Dallas in April.
Event chairs Anne and Steve Stodghill and David Hale Smith wasted no time thanking attendees, including a special shout out to members of the Wayne family — including Ethan Wayne, Marisa Wayne, Melinda Wayne-Munoz and Anita Swift — who made the trip to Dallas.
Film-loving guests — includingLeslie Light, Sheri Fowler, Gena Landry, Tom Landry, and Maria and Hunter Sullivan — got a peek at this year’s event lineup, along with an exclusive screening of The Shootist.
The four-day festival kicks off on Thursday, April 24, with an opening-night reception and screening at Look Cinemas, followed by a concert by Texas native Pat Green. On Friday, April 25, the festivities continue with four screenings followed by a Texas gala and auction.
On April 26, the final four screenings take place, followed by a closing-night party with Hunter Sullivan. Participants can look forward to question-and-answer sessions after the final screening on each day of the festival.
