Mint Juleps & Mini Horses
Dallasites horse around for good cause at Equest gala patron party
What: Equest Gala Patron Party
Where: Home of Ashley Tatum and Newt Walker
The 411: Event co-chairs Kathy and Jeromy Fielder and honorary chairs Lynn and Allan McBee welcomed more than 100 guests to this haute house party to celebrate the upcoming Equest Gala, which helps provide hope and healing through facilitated equestrian therapy. Attendees were greeted by Equest mini ambassadors Cisco and Dare, with the option to snap a pic or two with the adorable animals before continuing on their way.
Once inside, Farm to Market Catering and Libations delighted guests with tasty bites, while Republic Beverage was tasked with creating Mint Juleps, the sipper of the night. After grabbing a cocktail, everyone gathered around for Equest CEO Lilli Kellogg's words on the cause at hand.
“Over 800,000 people in North Texas have a disability," Kellogg said. "One in 50 babies are born within the autism spectrum, and 20 veterans a day commit suicide. There is a need for Equest’s services, and the 1,200-pound therapy horse that provides hope and healing for numerous diagnoses.”
This year's gala, themed Field of Dreams, is April 29 at the Texas Horse Park. Guests can expect southern cuisine, craft cocktails, live music, and a stacked live and silent auction. Tickets start at $300.
