Uber throws big-deal birthday bash to toast one year in Dallas
Uber, the app-based service billed as "everyone's private driver," threw an uber-chic birthday bash at Gallerie Noir to celebrate one year in Big D. The signature black town cars and SUVs are everywhere these days, taking Dallas scenesters to and from all the hottest spots in town.
"It has been great bringing a new safe, reliable and stylish transportation option to everyone in Dallas," said Uber Dallas general manager Leandre Johns. "We truly appreciate all the love and support we have gotten over this last year. The success we have experienced just in this first year makes us even more excited for the year to come."
The recent hubbub with the Dallas City Council didn't dampen spirits of the revelers — including Carrie White, Terri Prescott, D'Ann Faught, David McAdams, Alexa Bomersbach, Jackie Langston, Grant Samples, Barbara Henry, Jack Blaylock, Kristin Leiber, Jordan Johnson and Lisa Willis — who happily imbibed with their fellow Uber supporters.
One super sweet party favor of sorts? All Uber rides beginning or ending at the event were on the house. All proceeds from the one-year soiree benefited Jonathan’s Place.
