Kristin Chenoweth's dreamy Dallas wedding includes 7-Eleven Slurpees and 'Wicked' Margaritas
Tony- and Emmy-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth married musician Josh Bryant in Dallas on Saturday, September 2, and according to People magazine's exclusive invitation to the wedding, the star-studded celebration was filled with Dallas-y details.
On Friday night, the magazine reports, the couple hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Capital Grille (complete with Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake on the sweltering summer evening). The wedding took place Saturday in front of 140 guests at a private Dallas-area residence.
They called on Dallas' Crystal Frasier Weddings to design and plan the nuptials, and local floral artist David Kimmel Design filled it with fairytale flowers - calla lilies, garden roses, majolica, spray roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, veronica, mums, and various dark seasonal greenery, People says.
"This wedding was definitely a labor of love," Crystal Frasier Weddings posted on Instagram. "We’ve been designing and planning this in secret for a long time and to see it come to life over the past 72 hours was a dream."
The bride chose a romantic palette of white, ivory, creme, soft peach, blush to medium pink, and champagne tones for the wedding, which she complemented with her own light pink dress - described as "a Pamella Roland gown with a sheer nude and pink overlay and bow detail at the back."
Chenoweth was not channeling her iconic role as poufy-pink Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked, she says - she was merely being herself.
“On that day, I want to look and feel like Kristin, and I want Josh to see the girl that he has been with for five years,” she told People ahead of the ceremony. “I'm going to look glamorous and all that, but my hair isn't going to be up to heaven, even though we'll be in Texas. It's going to look like me.”
Added Bryant to the magazine: “Don't let her fool you. Normal to Kristin is like 110%.”
The couple reportedly served "Southern comfort" cuisine at the reception, including beef tenderloin, steak fries, and fried pickles, before cutting into a five-tier Mexican vanilla bean wedding cake and handing out boxes of sweets that included gourmet cookies by Nacho Aguirre from Delice Chocolatier San Antonio, People says. Signature cocktails included "Wicked Margaritas" as a nod to Chenoweth's famous role.
And for a late-night snack? Dunkin doughnuts and Dallas' own 7-Eleven Slurpees, they say.
The entire day was captured by local photographer Dale Benfield and posted on the couple's personal social media accounts and on People magazine.
"Yesterday was hard work, but when you have a couple as kind and lovely as @kchenoweth and @joshbguitar you bring you A game, and your A team," Benfield posted on Instagram, adding, "Congratulations K+J."
