CultureMap readers name the Black Tie Dinner the most glamorous event of theseason
The social swirl was at an all-time-high this fall. Annual events stepped it up with red carpets, mind-blowing decor and over-the-top art auctions, raising millions of dollars for deserving nonprofits and philanthropic organizations.
That says a lot about the kinds of people we have running the show here in Dallas: They're generous and they know how to party.
But, according to CultureMap readers, one event rose to the top as the most glamorous of the season. From December 17-23, you cast your vote daily, and the Black Tie Dinner took the crown, garnering 48 percent of the votes. It was a very tight race, however. Dallas Opera First Night was close on Black Tie's chic heels, lagging behind by just 3 percent.
The rest of the events in the poll — Cattle Baron's Ball, Two x Two by Aids and Art, MTV: REDEFINE and the Crystal Charity Ball — just couldn't compete. But even though Black Tie Dinner now holds the title of the most glamorous event of the season, we commend all of the affairs for creating some of the year's most enchanted evenings and setting a new standard for fundraising in Dallas.
