Marketing recruiting agency Freeman+Leonard hosted an intimate but lively cocktail party at Royal Sixty to welcome CultureMap chairman and CEO Alyce Alston to Dallas.
Among the 100 or so movers and shakers: Valerie Freeman, Debra Nelson, Ron Chapman, Jeff Brady, Peter Wood, Paige Farragut, Pam Gerber, Cindy Young, CultureMap Houston editor-at-large Shelby Hodge, and other Freeman+Leonard friends and clients, who noshed on heavy hors d'oeuvre and sipped wine while acquainting themselves with Alston and CultureMap.
After lots of meeting and greeting, Kathy Leonard introduced Alston and recognized her many accomplishments, including the launch of O magazine, her role as vice president and group publisher of W, and CEO of DeBeers.
Alston followed by thanking the Dallas team for their hard work and Leonard for her kind words. She also admitted to falling in love with Texas — she lives in Austin with her family — which is something that surprised her after so many years of living in New York.
