Sweet Anticipation
Junior Leaguers gather for a lavish cocktail party to honor sponsors of the upcoming ball
The ladies of the Junior League of Dallas hosted a sponsor cocktail soirée at the home of Amy and Malone Mitchell — the parents of Junior Leaguer Allie Jacobs —to celebrate the upcoming ball. This year's event, February 23 at the Hilton Anatole, is inspired by the French phrase "joie de vivre" and honors the League and its devotees.
As attendees sipped on cocktails and noshed on bacon-wrapped figs, JLD president Aimee Griffiths, ball chair Bunny Cotten and JLD underwriting chair Cachet Petty Weinberg thanked all of the sponsors and donors for their generous contributions. Later they explored the Mitchell's extravagant home, marveling at the exquisite finishes, grand marble staircases, Gothic-style windows, oversized chandeliers, bowling alley, ball room and library.
Among the elegant revelers were Kevin Cotten, honorary chair Caren Prothro, Wendy and Boyd Messman, Tracy Steiner, Elizabeth Dacus, Louise and Joe LaManna, Christie Carter, Robin Robinson, and Chazz and Ryan Fritz.
The 91-year-old Junior League of Dallas strives to improve the community through volunteer work and leadership. Its 5,000 members dedicate their time to service projects.
