Dallas' Common Desk expands chic office space and coffee to Richardson
It's Common Desk here, Common Desk there, as Dallas' original coworking company opens a new location in the DFW area, this time in Richardson.
Called Common Desk – Richardson, the new office space spanning 31,500 square feet will open at 3400 at CityLine, Transwestern Development Company's newest office development in Richardson on US 75. According to a release, it will open in fall 2019.
The space will feature floor-to-ceiling 10-foot glass for exterior offices, high-end design, all-inclusive offerings, shared bikes for quick access to the nearby Spring Creek Nature Area, free parking for members and guests, customizable private offices, and three enterprise-centric hospitality suites to meet the office needs of larger teams.
This is the eighth Common Desk location and follows its expansion to Austin, which the company announced in March. Richardson is one of three other Common Desk spaces slated to open in DFW across 2019, with additional openings outside of DFW planned for Austin in the fall.
Transwestern VP Will Paton says their partnership with Common Desk is no ordinary landlord-lease situation.
"We chose to partner with Common Desk not only for their coworking expertise, but perhaps more importantly for their ability to activate building amenities for all tenants through thoughtful programming, top notch staffing and technology," Paton says. "We are particularly excited about the partnership agreement as opposed to a traditional lease structure. With Common Desk, there's full transparency for us the landlord partner. We are aligned in all facets of ownership from leasing strategy to operations to amenitization."
Common Desk’s partnership at 3400 at CityLine will help the coworking brand continue to meet the flexible workspace needs of DFW professionals.
Common Desk first realized the demand for flexible office offerings when they opened their first location north of Dallas in 2017 with Granite Properties at Granite Park. They also have Addison on the books, set to open in the spring.
3400 at CityLine is a 313,000-square-foot, Class A building. Common Desk will occupy two interconnected, partial floors within the five-story building and will play off of the buzz of the cafe, deli, and fitness center in the lobby.
Common Desk will contribute to the offerings across the building with amenities like a full-service espresso bar powered by Fiction Coffee, which Common Desk members and building tenants will be able to order through Common Desk’s "Ellum" app.
Other amenities include a large rentable boardroom for outside meetings, community events for the entire development, and bookable yard game sets for members and tenants alike to enjoy the extended green space and trail entryway at the 3400 development.
Common Desk's portfolio also includes Fiction Coffee and Social Mechanics, offering members and guests additional customized amenities that enhance the workday.
