Texas-Size Thrill Ride
Get your thrills on the $12 million adrenaline rush now open at Fair Park
No need to wait until September's State Fair of Texas to head to Fair Park. There's a new attraction in town called Top o' Texas Tower, and it's a $12 million, 500-foot-tall adrenaline rush.
The tower falls just 60 feet short of Reunion Tower. But unlike the latter, which provides Dallasites and tourists with a fantastic city view and fine dining, the Top o' Texas Tower is a four-and-a-half-minute, sky-high ride.
The Fair Park ride holds up to 100 people per cycle. Passengers enter the wheel at ground level, and it slowly revolves the whole way up for a bird's-eye view of Dallas.
Top o' Texas is currently open to everyone who purchases tickets for Summer Adventures — a hot summer entertainment venue open through August 18 at Fair Park, with fountains, splash pools, air-conditioned dining areas and show spaces. The ride will close at the end of Summer Adventures and reopen for the State Fair on September 27.
This week, Summer Adventure tickets cost just $15 a person (with promo code July4) and includes admission to the Children's Aquarium, Texas Discovery Gardens and butterfly house, FlowRider water ride and, of course, a trip up the sky-high tower. Purchase tickets online.
