Owner of Which Wich chain adopts famed Dallas gelato company
One successful Dallas food and beverage company has acquired another: Sinelli Concepts International, founder of the Which Wich sandwich chain, has purchased Paciugo, the Italian gelato concept founded by husband-and-wife Ugo and Cristiana Ginatta in 2000.
Sinelli will take over 32 locations spanning 10 states.
Sinelli Concepts founder Jeff Sinelli says in a release that he intends to grow the brand.
"Paciugo has established a solid reputation for quality and has delighted families for almost two decades," he says. "Our team is looking forward to sharing the Paciugo experience in even more markets in the years ahead. I am proud of my roots here in Dallas and excited to invest in growing this Dallas-based company."
Paciugo was founded on a family recipe and comes from an Italian phrase meaning "messy concoction." It's the largest artisanal gelato chain in the United States, with more than 30 franchised and licensed locations.
Its gelato is natural and made by hand daily, incorporating fresh fruits and Italian chocolates for more than 400 flavor combinations. The company also offers gelato pops, ice cream sandwiches, macarons, smoothies, shakes, coffee, and pastries.
Sinelli plans to expand the presence of Paciugo in markets across the country, but will keep Which Wich Superior Sandwiches a separate thing.
