With the Dallas International Film Festival coming to a close on April 13, movie fans won't have much time to rest before the USA Film Festival — which just released its schedule — kicks off April 22 for a six-day run at Angelika Film Center Dallas.
The festival's first film is also its biggest: Fading Gigolo, a rare starring turn for Woody Allen in a film he didn't direct. That honor goes to John Turturro, who also wrote and co-stars in the film.

Allen plays Murray, who becomes an unwitting pimp for his friend Fioravante (Turturro). The film is a virtual cavalcade of stars, including Sharon Stone, Sofia Vergara, Liev Schreiber, Vanessa Paradis and more.
Turturro will be in attendance for the screening, and he will be interviewed by Dallas native Stephen Tobolowsky, who will also serve as host for the entire festival.
In addition to this conversation, Tobolowsky will present a series of short films and put on a tribute to Morgan Fairchild, with whom he co-stars in an upcoming film, among other things.
Other noteworthy films at the festival include Frontera, which will serve as a tribute to actor Ed Harris, who will be in attendance; A Night in Old Mexico starring Robert Duvall; Tasting Menu and Life's a Breeze, both of which star Fionnula Flanagan, who will be in attendance for the latter; and Clutter, starring Carol Kane, who will also be in attendance.
There will also be screenings of classic movies like Orson Welles' Othello, Il Sorpasso from Italy and Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D, all of which have restored digital prints. Additionally, Dallas star Linda Gray will be honored with a special film clip program and Q&A with Fox 4's Clarice Tinsley.
In all, the festival will have 14 feature-length films, nine different short film programs, and a variety of other tributes and special programs.
Tickets for most programs will be $10; all others will be free. Tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or by calling 214-631-2787 through April 20, with differing extra fees for both options. If you want to take your chances the day of the show, tickets will be available upstairs at the Angelika, but they will be cash only.
