Things are brisk on the Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant front, with yet more places that have either just opened or are about to open this week. This comes after the most recent installation of our Where to Eat column that was chock-a-block with new. It's making for an exciting June in dining.
Winslow's Cedar Springs
This second branch of Fort Worth's Winslow's Wine Cafe is doing a hush-hush soft opening this week at 3908 Cedar Springs Rd., in the old Buli Cafe space that was most recently Daily Juice.
Owner Joe Berry describes it as "Winslow's with the subtitle 'wine, cocktails and eats.'" For lunch and dinner, there'll be panini, wood-fired pizza and a full bar with craft cocktails.
The menu is overseen by executive chef Michael Watkins, with Kelly Burton as chef de cuisine.
With a weekend opening party under their belt, they'll debut on June 9 with dinner from 5 to 10 pm, then ease into later hours once they get their feet wet.
Local Press + Brew
First juice bar in Oak Cliff has opened next to Urban Acres, with whom it will have a symbiotic relationship by buying its fruits and vegetables.
In addition to cold-pressed juices, the menu includes espresso drinks and cold-brew coffee, as well as a selection of raw and vegan snacks and treats. The coffee comes from local roaster Noble Coyote, and they're working with local bakers to sell their products. Those currently include sweets from Reverie Bakeshop and Joy Macarons.
The juice is pressed onsite, available in the cafe or at their walk-up to-go window. The juices are served in glass bottles, not plastic, and $1 goes to charity for those who bring their bottles back.
