1. Dallas burger chain pulls out of long-occupied location in Preston Center. Sorry Park Cities, but your days of easy access to cheese fries have come to a tragic end: The Snuffer's in Preston Center has closed. Located at 8411 Preston Rd., the restaurant closed in October, a representative from the company confirmed.
2. Former Kent Rathbun restaurant closes longtime location in Plano. After more than 15 years, Plano has lost its location of Jasper's, the "backyard cuisine" concept founded by chef Kent Rathbun. The restaurant was shut down on November 4. According to a statement from current owner W.L. Hyde, the closure was due to the expiration of its lease.
3. Iconic Uptown Dallas restaurant Cafe Express closes after 20 years. In news more shocking than the recent closure at Mockingbird Station, the iconic location of Cafe Express in Uptown Dallas has closed, a representative from the Houston-based concept confirmed.
4. How long are we allowed to keep our Beto O'Rourke signs in our yard? The results are in. What's done is done. In the 2018 midterm elections, Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke was not able to unseat the incumbent, Ted Cruz. One question, though: How long is it okay to keep your Beto O'Rourke sign up in your yard?
5. Stunning $1 million donation leads efforts of Unlikely Heroes at Dallas gala. The word "rescue" doesn't get said at many glittering galas, but not every black-tie ball calls its attendees "heroes," either. Those were the two words repeated the most at the sixth annual Unlikely Heroes Recognizing Heroes Awards Dinner & Charity Benefit, which took place October 27 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas.
