Dallas Police Department seeks ID on man who dumped dog on road

Chevy Impala
The Dallas Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in helping to identify a man who cruelly dropped his dog on the side of the road.
The incident took place on March 21, 2025, at approximately 11:32 a.m., when the unidentified suspect stopped his white older model Chevrolet Impala in the 2400 block of Dowdy Ferry Road.
The suspect removed a brown or white male Pit Bull type dog from the vehicle and then drove away, leaving the dog on the side of the road.
The entire video can be seen here.
Unfortunately, the dog was subsequently hit by a car and died.
Some notes about this guy:
- He's wearing a red baseball cap, backwards, with a gray T-shirt.
- He looks like he might have blond hair.
- He has another dog in the car: a smaller white fluffy-ish dog.
- He's a cowardly, heartless weasel.
The car looks quite scuffed up.
Abandoning an animal is covered under the charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals. It is considered a Class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and up to a year in jail.
The dumping was caught on cameras posted by the Dowdy Ferry Animal Commission, a group that monitors animal dumping and other acts of animal cruelty in southeast Dallas.
The group has caught numerous similar acts and has rescued dogs that have been abandoned in the past.
Dallas Police is requesting any witnesses that recognize the suspect vehicle to please contact Dallas Police Crime Stoppers at 1 (877) 373-TIPS or Detective H. Tamez, #8518, with the Animal Cruelty Unit at 214-671-0115. Reference Case #039839-2025.
