Go Mavs Go
Dallas is a slam dunk on list of best cities for basketball fans

Even in the off season the Dallas Mavs score big: WalletHub just ranked Dallas the No. 11 best place for basketball fans.
The financial website analyzed the largest U.S. cities — 293 in all — based on a host of factors, including the number of NBA and NCAA Division 1 teams and their performance level, fan engagement, ticket prices, stadium size, and more.
The No. 11 ranking is nine spots better than last year, when Dallas was ranked No. 20, so we're moving on up. The Dallas Mavs have the third highest performance level among all NBA teams, winning 57.3 percent of their games over the last three seasons. Additionally, the franchise is worth a whopping $1.45 billion, making it the seventh most valuable in the league.
On the college front, big D doesn't fare quite as well, ranking No. 98.
Of all the cities in Texas, San Antonio scored the best. While it slipped one spot from 2016, Alamo City still came in at No. 4 overall. Even more impressive? WalletHub declares the San Anotnio Spurs the most popular team in the nation.
On the overall list, Los Angeles (home to the Lakers, Clippers, and three Division 1 college teams) takes the No. 1 spot, followed by Boston at No. 2 and Oakland at No. 3. Houston slides in at No. 18.
