Top Shops for February
Where to shop in Dallas right now: 7 must-hit stores for February
Because the winter weather refuses to leave, we're eagerly anticipating springtime. To prepare, we're clearing our closets to make room for a sea of pretty patterns and color.
This month we have a mix of new, refreshed and relocated spots. Here's where to shop in February:
BelAir: A Lifestyle Boutique
After a year as a home-decor haven, Shannon Van Beber has rechristened her little cottage a "lifestyle boutique" to reflect the addition of fashion and accessories. Van Beber's sister, Melanie McDougal, sources clothing lines unique to Dallas such as Christine Alcalay, Calvin Rucker and Rabens Saloner to complement the existing stock of eclectic treasures.
Diane von Furstenberg
Give your wardrobe a splash of color with DVF's limited-edition Pop Wraps, a collection of dresses inspired by Andy Warhol. To celebrate 40 years of the wrap dress, von Furstenberg combined Warhol's iconic prints with her classic designs. Available online and at DVF stores only, the printed dresses, tops and accessories are expected to sell out soon.
Ellis Hill
Now open in Highland Park Village, new paper store Ellis Hill boasts a lovely collection of greeting cards, stationery and customizable gifts. Lines include Sugar Paper, Dallas-based Bell'Invito, Dauphine Press and Crane.
Nardos Imam
Wedding bells in your future? Visit Nardos Imam bridal studio, the latest addition to the luxury shops on Sherry Lane. Founded by SMU grad Mackenzie Brittingham Sumrall and Nardos Imam, a former in-house designer at Stanley Korshak, the shop features original bridal gown designs created from imported laces and fabrics. If you have something specific in mind for your special day, you can work with the girls to create your own gown.
Nordstrom NorthPark
Inspired by her childhood favorites and, of course, Sex in the City, Sarah Jessica Parker is launching her new SJP Collection at Nordstrom NorthPark and online beginning February 28. The collection includes 25 shoes in varying colors and heel heights, as well as a few handbags and a classic A-line trench coat. Meet SJP herself at NorthPark on March 9.
Target
We're excited for the new collaboration between Target and London designer Peter Pilotto, who pushes fashion limits by combining color and innovative prints with classic structure and design. Find the playful collection of Pilotto's designs — dresses, skirts, swimwear and handbags — in store and online starting February 9.
Ylang 23
Joanne and Charles Teichman's beloved jewelry store has moved from Galleria Dallas to the Plaza at Preston Center. Starting February 8, Ylang 23 will showcase the same whimsical and contemporary designs by Cathy Waterman, Jennifer Meyer, Todd Reed, Irene Neuwirth and more.
